Barnardo’s Garden Village is a stone's throw away from Newbury Park, Dr Barnardo created this enchanting village in 1875. It was created to be an escape for young girls from the London slums, who were in need of support .

By 1880 Dr Barnardo had built 26 cottages on the site, each having a house mother to give the girls guidance and support. Today, the location is just as charming, it is an escape from the city.
